Important USPS News Regarding Mail Delivery to Canada

Monday, June 27 Update – Canadian Postal Employees Return-To- Work Tonight
USPS To Begin Accepting Mail Destined For Canada Tuesday, June 28

The Canadian government passed back-to-work legislation Sunday, June 26. Canada Post employees will return to work beginning Monday June 27 at 8:30 p.m. USPS will begin accepting mail for Canada starting Tuesday, June 28 .  Mail held in USPS network since the work stoppage began is being released & transported into Canada

Monday, June 20 Update – USPS Info on Canada Post strike: USPS is NOT ACCEPTING mail destined for Canada as of Sat, June 18 with the exception of Global Express Guaranteed (GXG) shipments.  The Canadian Government is scheduled to make a decision on back-to-work legislation at some point today (Monday, 6/20). Once Canada Post announces when they will resume operations, the USPS will again accept mail destined to Canada.

Friday, June 17 Update – Due to the Canadian Postal Strike, Canada Post has informed the U.S. Postal Service that the suspension of mail delivery to Canadian addresses will last until at least next week.

With this notification, USPS will stop accepting all letters and packages destined to Canada with the exception of Global Express Guaranteed (GXG) Shipments at 11:59 p.m., CST, Saturday, June 18.
