Disruptions to International Postal Services Update 3/20/20

Coronavirus Update

Today, March 20, 2020, the USPS has communicated more updates from international postal services in regards to mail disruptions due to coronavirus. Be advised that USPS mail items sent to these countries may be affected. For a full list of all international service disruptions visit the USPS Service Alerts Page. Suspended International Service

Bulgaria
Bulgarian Posts PLC has advised that it is currently unable to provide mail service to many countries inside and outside the EU, with the list changing on a daily basis. Bulgarian Posts will not to accept any outbound international EMS items but will continue to accept letter-post and parcel-post items where available.

Cyprus
Cyprus Post has suspended all outbound international mail.

Morocco
Poste Maroc has suspended all outbound international mail until normal flight operations resume in Morocco.

Altered Service

Austria
Österreichische Post AG has stopped accepting packages and letters to international destinations where transportation is unavailable. Delivery standards cannot be guaranteed at this time. Additionally, all signature on delivery services have been suspended. Instead, these items will be deposited in the recipient’s mailbox or in a secure location.

Belgium
Bpost has announced that signature on delivery services has been altered. Effective immediately, carriers will sign for items that would typically require a recipient’s signature. At this time, Bpost is not able to that guarantee delivery times, standard rules for signature on delivery, or availability of tracking data for shipments.

Djibouti
La Poste has advised customers to expect delays in the handling and delivery of all mail items until sufficient transport capacity becomes available.

Finland
Posti and Åland Post have advised that they are currently unable to transport outbound letter-post, parcel-post, and EMS items to many international destinations. International mail service will continue as transport permits.

France
La Poste has announced that it can no longer guarantee delivery lead times, the collection of signatures on delivery, delivery to the addressee in person, tracking, the processing of items for reimbursement, and insured items.

Georgia
Georgian Post has advised that customers should expect delays. Additionally, all signature on delivery items will no longer require the recipient’s signature.

Liechtenstein
Liechtensteinische Post has altered signature upon delivery services. For items that would typically require signature, the mail carrier will instead leave a note in the signature field of the handheld device.

Mauritius
Mauritius Post has closed post offices are closed until April 2, 2020. As a result, customers should expect severe delays. Additionally, signature on delivery will no longer be required at the time delivery is made.

Mexico
Correos de México has suspended international service to all countries except Canada and the United States.

Morocco
Poste Maroc has announced that signature on delivery services has been altered. Effective immediately, carriers will sign for items that would typically require signature, the mail carrier will now instead ask the addressee for their identity card number and record it.

New Caledonia
OPT–NC has suspended all services outside of mainland France. OPT–NC is ceasing to accept any mail originating from other Union member countries with immediate effect. For all mail items that require a signature on delivery, the addressee’s signature will be replaced by the mail carrier’s.

North Macedonia
Post of North Macedonia has advised that international mail operations are severely limited at the present time. Exchanges of mail with the neighboring countries are being organized where possible.

Poland
Poczta Polska has stopped accepting outbound international mail until further notice, with the exception of mail to Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Switzerland
Swiss Post Ltd has suspended mail to any countries outside the European Union, with the exception of Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, Norway, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Vietnam
VNPost has announced delays to the following locations:
