Military Mail Temporarily Suspended for 43 ZIPs

The Department of Defense has announced today the suspension of military mail to select ZIP codes beginning April 9, 2020. Due to a lack of transportation, military mail service will not be available to the following ZIPs:

Kuwait
Kuwait Postal Sector has extended the suspension of all inbound and outbound mail service until May 1, 2020.

Luxembourg
Post Luxembourg has advised that the delivery of letter post will be suspended on April 10, 2020, until further notice.

Nepal
Nepal Post has advised that due to the suspension of all incoming international flights, severe delays are expected.

Spain
Correos y Telégrafos is currently only able to send outbound international mail to Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, South Korea, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and The United States of America.

Vietnam
VNPost has advised that delays should be expected for mail items sent to quarantines zones.

Nine International Postal Carriers Announce Altered Service Due to Coronavirus

Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands Postal Service has extended the suspension of all postal operations until April 20, 2020. 

Curaçao
Cpost International N.V. has suspended inbound letter and parcel services until further notice. Delivery standards cannot currently be guaranteed for operational services.

French Polynesia
OPT PF – FARE RATA is currently unable to accept mail items until national and international flights have resumed.

Malawi
Malawi Post Corporation has suspended al international mail service until further notice.

Mongolia
Mongol Post has advised that its international mail center will remain closed until May 1, 2020.

Nepal
Nepal Post has advised that the country’s lockdown has been extended until April 15, 2020. These circumstances will impact delivery times—customers should expect delays.

Portugal
Correios de Portugal has announced that international and domestic operations will continue to operate normally where possible. However, it will not be able to send items to international locations where transportation is not available. Additionally, delivery times, standard signature on delivery service, and tracking services cannot be guaranteed at this time.

Samoa
Samoa Post has suspended all postal operations until further notice.

Togo
The Togo Postal Corporation has announced that it will only be able to carry out postal operations as far as it is possible to do so. The Togolese Government has declared a curfew and closed land borders, both of which will impact postal operations. At this time The Togo Postal Corporation cannot guarantee it’s delivery standards.

USPS Suspends International Mail to 29 Additional Destinations

Due to disruptions to air and sea transportation, the USPS will temporarily suspend mail service to 29 international destinations effective April 7, 2020. These additional suspensions bring the total number of international destinations suspended to 51. Guatemala
The General Directorate of Posts and Telegraphs will be operating with 50% of its normal staff until April 12, 2020. Customers should expect delays until further notice.

Italy
Poste Italiane has advised that the Italian Government has decided to extend the measures aimed at minimizing the spread of COVID-19 until April 13, 2020.

Maldives
Maldives Post has extended the suspension of inbound and outbound mail until April 11, 2020.

Mauritius
Mauritius Post has closed post offices are closed until April 15, 2020. As a result, customers should expect severe delays. Additionally, signature on delivery will no longer be required at the time delivery is made.

South Korea
Korea Post has suspended outbound mail services to Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Hawaii, Iceland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Qatar, Turkey, Uganda, and Zambia until further notice.

Estonia, Iceland, and Slovakia Provide Service Disruption Updates

Today, April 2, 2020, the USPS received service disruption updates from Estonia, Iceland, and Slovakia. All three of these countries had previously comminuted service disruptions due to the coronavirus pandemic. International Mail Service Disruptions

Estonia
The Government of Estonia declared a state of emergency due to last until May 1, 2020. Therefore, Estonian Post cannot guarantee its delivery standards at this time. Customers should expect delays.

Iceland
Iceland Post has suspended signature on delivery requirements for inbound items. Delivery will instead be conducted using methods that limit human contact.

Slovakia
Slovenska Pošta, a. s., has announced disruptions to several services. Packages that would typically require the recipient’s signature can now be deposited in parcel terminals. Customers in compulsory quarantine will have their mail items delivered to a post office until the quarantine is lifted. International service will continue where possible, however, Slovenska Pošta is unable to deliver to an increasing number of destinations throughout the world.

USPS Temporarily Unable to Accept Mail to 22 International Destinations

Several international postal services have notified the USPS that they are currently unable to accept or deliver mail originating from The United States. Effective April 3, the USPS will not accept mail addressed to these twenty-two affected countries. Stamps.com software will automatically notify customers when a destination is unable to receive USPS packages—so you don’t have to worry about printing postage for a mailpiece that can’t be sent.

Argentina
Correo Argentino has suspended the requirement for signature on delivery. Instead, recipients will provide an ID number that will be recorded in the signature field. Correo Argentino is also unable to transport mail to an increasing number of countries. As a result, international mail services will only be carried out where available.

Greece
Hellenic Post (ELTA) has announced that it will only be able to maintain international services to and from a limited set of countries. Due to ongoing transportation limitations, international service capacity may change daily. Currently, letter mail and packages to The United States are not being accepted.

Japan
Japan Post has announced that inbound international mail services are limited. Currently, mail from The United States is being accepted. For a full list of service advisories by country visit the Japan Post Service Alert Page.

Mali
La Poste du Mali has announced that is currently unable to meet its delivery standards. Customers should expect delays.

Serbia
Public Enterprise Post of Serbia has suspended international service to 186 destinations. Currently, inbound and outbound services to The United States are operational.

Thailand
Thailand Post is currently unable to provide outbound international service to a number of countries—a full list can be seen here.

Turkey
Turkish PTT Corporation has advised that customers should expect delays for all inbound and outbound mail services.
